The CW has renewed Supergirl, starring Melissa Benoist, for Season 2 and will move its production to Vancouver.
The superhero drama that debuted on CBS on October 26th, 2015 with 12.9 million total viewers and a 3.1 share (18-49) rating, has had an averaged 8.2 million viewers and a 1.8 share (18-49) rating in Season 1 with 20 episodes.
The episode “Worlds Finest” (1.18) that featured an appearance from Grant Gustin as The Flash was incredibly popular.
According to a tweet by actor David Harewood, who plays ‘Hank Henshaw/J’Onn J’Onzz/Martian Manhunter’, Season 2 could have 22 episodes.
The move hasn’t been officially been announced by The CW, only reported by several major media outlets, but the Upfront Event 2016-2017 on the morning on May 18 will bring more clearing to this.
