ABC has released the Official Synopsis of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode “Purpose in the Machine” (3.02) that will be aired on Tuesday, October 6 at 09:00-10:00 PM.
THE ANCIENT SECRETS OF THE MONOLITH ARE REVEALED
Fitz and the team enlist the aid of an Asgardian to unlock the secrets of the ancient monolith that swallowed Simmons, and Agent May is at a crossroads in her personal and professional life.

“Purpose in the Machine” (#302) was written by DJ Doyle and directed by Kevin Tancharoen.
In Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films, as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
